- Participate in a telephone conference with Durand Cook and your personal Adoption Counselor.
- Fly to Los Angeles for a two-day adoption session with our staff.
- Complete and sign various forms.
- Meet with our trained psychologist for emotional support and to help you determine if adoption is the correct path for you.
- Help our staff to obtain prenatal records, or arrange for you to start prenatal care.

- Work with your personal Adoption Counselor to establish your budget for medical and living expenses.
- Birthmothers meet the Adoptive Parents, if they wish.
- Pre-register at the hospital where you plan to deliver.
- Continue contact with our counselor and the Adoptive Parents.

- Call your personal Adoption Counselor and/or the Adoptive Parents when labor commences.
- Birthmother visits with the baby, counselor, adoptive family and whomever she chooses.
- Birthmother may sign the consent/relinquishment documents as early as 48 to 72 hours after the birth of their child in many states.
